it might be wise to add a separate forum for technical discussions

I agree, it would definitely be nice to have 2 separate forums, this would be a good middle ground for both camps. Jon also mentioned the possibility of making each category a single line (similar to taperssection.com). However, I think he got buried in other issues and this idea was put on the backburner.

If the Live Music Archive has a Grateful Dead forum, where is it? I'd be more than happy to add my future posts there, but I haven't found one.

If GD postings are such a huge problem, maybe the site administrators should consider adding a link directly to that (yet-to-be-seen-by-my-eyes) GD forum. It would probably be more constructive than simply making note of the problem in this forum.

you want an example of how GD stuff can overtake a site...

check out bt.etree.org ... because myself and a few others wanted to see more than just phish and GD we requested a way to filter them out...

on here it would be nice to see reviews on shows other than just the GD once and a while :-)

my 2 cents

Anybody remember when DMB was hosted here? This all sounds pretty familiar... ;)

We don't have one yet, that's why you don't see one and why people are posting here (and why people that don't like seeing these posts are posting here too). :)

Going to google and searching for "Grateful Dead Forum" returned the following results:

http://www.google.com/search?num=20&hl=en&lr=lang_en&newwindow=1&q=grateful+dead+forum

Or, with xtifr's recommendation:

http://www.google.com/search?num=20&hl=en&lr=lang_en&newwindow=1&q=rec.music.gdead
